25 hrs and counting....

THIS WAS MY BIG BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!!!!

In 25hrs and some odd minutes, I will leave my twenties behind me and head into the "next" decade. I'm not scared or anything, its just kind of WEIRD. I think my mom said,"when you hit 30 you have to be resonsible". Huh? I thought that had happened, oh the day I got married or at the very least the day I popped Anna out.
Either way, here's the scoop.
Though it isn't officially my birthday, if I get nothing else b/t now and tomorrow, I will NOT care.
I have already received the greatest bday wishes!!!

On Friday after work, Jake came home and said he needed to go pick someone up. Huh? Thankfully Sarah C. called and distracted me and 20min later, MS Karrie Bolen was at my house!!! Yes! My BFF from Boise was here, at my house, in Tulsa. Total shocker. She and Jake planned this in MAY! I saw her twice in Aug. when I was in ID. and they all kept it a secret even her kids were hush hush. So it was a total surprise.
I have mentioned, oh 100 times or so, since my visit to Idaho, at Karrie's house, that I wanted a Wii. As Karrie and I are carrying on, in comes Anna and Bo with a box. I unwrap and its my Wii!!!
So Friday night we had pizza, conversation, laughs and played the Wii (I have the sports one so it is totally fun!)
Yesterday we hung out while Jake did all things kid related. He let me sleep cooked us breakfast, watched the kids while we went to the mall and shopped. Then last night, he fed, watched the kids while Karrie and I met Carrie (BFF from college) and Natalie! Yes, 3 Keri's (pick your spelling) and Natalie. We ate my fav restaraunt Los Cabos, had white cheese queso, TWO margaritas - oh it was so good.
We were home by 8 and I think Karrie and I were asleep on the couch/chair, watching Jake play the Wii by 9:30pm. Call us old but that was a big day.

So this is one big thank you!

To my husband who selflessly gave up his weekend, making sure even if Karrie and I were here at home, the kids were not bothering us. The effort he put into all the surprised, getting a hold of my gma and parents before the mailed the traditional cash and getting them to go in on the Wii. I have the most amazing husband - you should meet him sometime :)

To Karrie, for thinking that my 30th bday was a big deal :) Big enough to fly out here. I feel so loved, so cared for and so greatful for our friendship. I have only seen her the last few times in ID and we are always crunched for time so to have her all to myself and just talk and talk was so nice. We have so much in common and God knew that this weekend wasn't just about fun, we actually both needed each other. So thank you for using your FF miles and making the journey, and for my margaritas and dinner. You made this the best weekend EVER.

To my parents and Gma, thanks for letting Jake get the Wii. I am sure it sounded so silly that me out of all people would want one. But wow it is fun. And Anna totaly gets it so she is golfing right now on it.
So fun.

Here's to my last day of being 20 something.
The next time you hear from me I will be 30. AGHHHHHHHHH!

Thanks again to everyone who made my surprises fun!!

It Doesn't Really Matter

It doesn't really matter where you are, what you are doing, where you have been or where you think you are going. Things can change in an instant. It is a reminder that we are not in control, not even when we think we have the world by all 200 reigns. Really there is nothing we have grasp of....
So, you have to succumb, to bow, to say yes, God, whatever, whenever, I don't understand but I'll go. I trust you know best. And you pray - that devil keeps at bay, that your halo of angels is protecting you and when you are pulled in a million different directions and hear different callings you can muffle it all away and listen to the one and only true voice.

Slacking

Here is a snapshot of our weekend - My nephews 6th birthday - apparently my kids think that is THEIR cake and they should dig in with their fingers.
(please note their Nonna aka grandmother told them they could!)

In comparison to last week, I am slacking a little. I apologize.
With a long weekend, I am totally confused as to what day it is. So confused what my "to do" list really is compromised of. I will say I am thankful that Jake has a dentist appt. tomorrow, so when they called to confirm it, I was reminded to say, "Oh can you cancel mine for tomorrow" (kids aren't in school yet) and then I rescheduled it, and scheduled Anna's! How effiecient.
Tomorrow is FINALLY meet the teacher, with hope that school really does start NEXT Tues.
Really not much else to report. I have sold a cell phone, two purses and currently have another cell phone and purse listed on ebay. I told ya, it was craziness on ebay!
Guess what? It is 66 degress outside! I kid you NOT.
Oh and I found out on of my dear friends is preggo with #4...can't tell ya who. Guess all ya want, my lips are sealed. But all I have to say is babies babies babies EVERYWHERE (except here). And no that isn't a wishful "except here" that is a not planning, not wishing, not hoping, no way, NOT HERE.
Happy Wednesday!
