Night Out Anyone?

You got it, me, Christi, mexican food, pedicure, starbucks and well, what else do you need? It was a good night out.
So, here's your top ten:
1. Replaceable spaghetti sauce (its safely in the pantry)
2. Good friends, long overdue for a night out (I think our husbands still owe us like 3 good extended visits to make up for all of their time alone)...Dewayne/Jake talking to you!!!
3. Jake working so I could use his cold cash to go out, then working some more feeding and puting the kids to bed. God bless his soul!
4. Starbucks, cause really, what would life be like without it? Don't want to know.
5. God - just because, if I have to explain this one, its time to open your heart and your Bible
6. A free country
7. Getting a lot accomplished today, looking at my mileage tracker and seeing that I did it all within a 10mile radius, I kid you not.
8. Good weather so Jake can SAVE pennies riding the motorcycle
9. My inlaws that have kindly given us the motorcycle - I complain about it being our front porch decoration, but really it saves us a ton of money.
10. Silence - oh how I love thee. The tick tock of a clock and pitter patter of keys is all I hear at this moment and it is pure JOY!

My Heavenly Father, thank you for all you have blessed me with, temporarily and eternally. I am not worthy of any of it. May you help me to use those gifts to better work towards the GOAL, to be a better servant and a shining light to all those who cross my path. Amen

Tomatoes in the Grass

Yes, I have tomatoes in my grass, and no they aren't growing anywhere near by. You see I grabbed my grocery sack out of the trunk and it broke and so the spaghetti sauce fell, shattered and hence you have an aroma of garlic and chunky bits of tomatoe (along with pieces of glass) all over the driveway.
Hmmm, you can't exactly sweep up the glass embedded in the red mess. That would ruin your broom. I took the hose, after picking up the big pieces of glass with my hand, and just hosed the tomatoes down into the grass, it at least cleared up where I could see more pieces of glass. I didn't get them all I'm sure. And there is a lingering odor even inside the garage, and I can see the tomatoes rotting in the hot afternoon sun. And now, I have something on my grocery list, just when I thought I was DONE. Not too mention wasted money. Sniff sniff. What a crock!

Speaking of, glad I was wearing my crocs, the sauce came off fairly well, only to leave a slight hint of red on the pink sole of my right shoe. Had it been any other pair, I couldn't have washed them with the hose!

Happy LONG Labor day weekend - even if gas did go up 20cents!

MOPS, Tylenol, Rainbows and Sanity

I'm baaack!

Today was our meet and great for MOPS! Yahoo, I can feel it - pretty soon we will have a week to week, routine aka "normal" schedule. One of our favorite activities being MOPS! It was fun to see the new faces and all the babies that have been born over the summer or turned from infants to toddling little ones in the 4months or so since we last met. It was very exciting too because my friend Annie joined me. It is quite a hike from her house, and unlike anything she has ever done. But I know it had to be so fun for her and a nice break from her 3yr old twins, yes you read that right, 3yr old girl twins (she has a beautiful 6 yr old princess too)!!!

I had a few errands I needed to run and I now have my restored vehicle back - I think I posted very briefly a month or so ago that I had a run in with another vehicle and needed to replace the bumper. That was completed yesterday. So, I feel like I have a new car - they detailed it too! Oh and get this - detailing is now free for the rest of the time we own this vehicle....since they did the work. Um, hello. If you know me you know this is like a HUUUUUGGGGEEEE thing for me. Fewer things could make me happier! Esp. b/c they did such a good job! And it is so close to our house. I love a clean car. It is almost an obsession.

Back to the errands...the kids only made it through the eye glasses fixing. And we had to come home. Bo didn't sleep as well this afternoon, woke up with a fever, has been whining/crying for about 3 straight hours. He has a fever and I have now given him Tylenol. Not the hard stuff (yet) but it appears we are not toally healed just yet.

My allergies are HORRIBLE and I finally took a benedryl. I am already sooooooo sleepy and guess what? If I stopped for even 2sec. I think I could fall asleep. It appears the allergens are affecting my dog as well. He is already high mainenance in this area. I give him allergy shots, and he eats special foods and takes two other meds. Well, he can't stop scratching is all red etc. I called the vet, he called me back we discussed. Apparently the past 2 weeks have been the worst allergy weeks he is "almost ever seen". Has a lot of animals that are usual well controlled (allergy wise) that are currently flared up. Tomorrow, in we go to the vet. I swear, if it isn't a kid its the dog! I love them all but holy cow.
Can I take a nap?

Anna requested that her nail polish and "feet" nail polish be redone. I hadn't painted them since before Idaho. Oh a girl after my own heart. And we are just talking polish. I think if she experienced the whole pedicure, even at 4, we would have a die hard fan!
Her request (and yes she always has an opinion) were rainbow fingers and solid pink toes. And so we have orange, pink and purple fingers and pink toes. She was so beside herself that they turned out just how she wanted that we had to take a picture on our phone and send it to grandma!

I think I covered all areas in my title.

Oh the sanity - well, I am lacking - b/t the dog and the scratching and the lack of sleep and finding out that we will not have meet the teacher tomorrow and start school tomorrow....but meet the teacher NEXT Thurs and start the NEXT Tues due to construction/remodeling on the facilities made me want to cry. Anna too. Another week of togetherness. Jake keeps telling me some day I will want these days back, hard to imagine, but I know it is true. Right now I just want silence and a bed. HA HA.

So, I have to ask - anyone going to tune into the new 90210? I know there are plenty of original 90210 fans out there. I didn't watch it when it first started. But by late high school/college I was hard core. But I admit I am not the least interested in the new one. I am waaaaaaaaaaaaay more excited about Grey's, Private Practice, Desp. Housewives and House starting up. Which, might I add, why are they advertising PP already? It isn't starting until Oct. Crikey!

Top Ten
1. Talking to Amy, she has a house. She is coming!
2. School will start, it will start, just delayed, school WILL START
3. A good conversation with Carrie - noting we have been friends for 12 years. Yes, Sarah C. that means you too - 12 Years!!
4. I just realized I am in the last 10 days or so of my twenties. They have been so good to me, a marriage and two kids, several moves, lots of cars (hehe) - blessed
5. Anna being just a bit like me, it was fun to do her nails, and I know she had fun having them done!
6. Tylenol, seriously what would we do without it
7. Our vet. They didn't say "come in". They said we will have the Dr. call you. And it was only a matter of hours before Dr. Hooley called me himself, we had a chat and decided together to have him come in.
8. MOPS - what a great organization - my group here is the 3rd group I have belonged to and I have loved them all. If you are a stay at home mom with a child 5 or younger you MUST MUST MUST find one near you!
9. My new bumper
10. The bathtub = clean kids

Almost Forgot

Rumor has it that today is the day that I can take part in announcing something big. I even have a hot video in my hands...and I used the ADD video thing and its not working. Okay going to try You Tube...

Now you ask yourself, what was that? Well, apparently I am not very good at videoing and cut off the first part that goes something like this.
"Brian and Brianne, are you guys going to have a baby?"
"Yes, Keri we are!"
"You can't say anything until Friday, August 29"
Then you jumped in when Brian said "I better not find this on You Tube"

Well, I got word that they moved the "share" date up to today. So, I am doing my cousinly duty and sharing with the world that B & B Vertrees are having a baby!! Yahoo!

And I also forgot/wanted to say Congrats to my dear friend Katie and her hubby Brant on being preggo with #2.

Okay, now we are all caught up, and now that I figured out how to post videos you better watch out :)

Remember When....

Here you are, following the link from an email that said I had 5 new posts and you only see one!! What happened? I posted two days in a row, and this blog only shows posts from one day at a time. Crazy stuff, me posting two in a row, so you have to scroll back to see all five posts from yesterday.

If you are just here for today's post, by all means, read on.

Remember when this started and it was a thankful list? It was Dec. of 2005 and I posted here at this link
http://ksuelyon.blogspot.com/

If you look back over all those posts, wow - you can see the miracle God has been working in my/our lives over the last 2+ years. It is really cool.
I got caught up in my jaunt down memory lane today and thought I would pay tribute by posting a thankful list.
So, today's top 10:

1. Jake, Anna, Bo and Wilson
2. Our health, house, food etc. the basics that really are far above basic
3. Our church family - I love love love them!
4. The return of a DVR to our life, its true we are no longer "stealing" cable and proved we can live with out modern conveniences, but it is so much more fun WITH!
5. Coffee - any shape or form, hot or cold, black or sweet - I love it all
6. Digital cameras and websites to post and share
7. Finding a friend of a friend from highschool here, in Tulsa, in my SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS. Yes, a friend from Fullerton, that I met in 9th grade. It was the start of an instant NEW friendship with some old common ground that is fun to talk about. Tell me its not a God thing and I tell you you are WRONG.
8. ELP, MOPS and other assorted programming starts NEXT week. This means a return to "normal" yeeehaw!
9. All the new healthy babies (all boys) can't wait to meet them in person, but for now it is fun to see pics and read stories via blogs. What did we do before blogs?
10. Ebay. It is a re-found obsession - love it!

And people say we monkey around.

But we're too busy singing

To put anybody down.

Let Me Explain

Okay, so I know you are probably wondering...helmets in the airport? Yes those are biking helmets. Or after 6hrs in the Denver airport they are ENTERTAINMENT. Pure and simple :)

Lots of Congrats

I have to congratulate all the new little ones in our life....

Xavier Anthony!!!! He is almost 4 weeks old now. Congrats Anthony and Jennifer.

Troy David!!! He was born on the 19th to our dear friends Mark and Sarah. Yeah for the new family of 5!

Tammy Tammy - we hear she is doing well, maybe NOT so sick anymore as she is preggo with #4!!!

Cindy and Brian are preggo with boy #2!!!

I think that is it?!?! Did I get everyone? Seems like baby BOYS are everywhere. Watch out Tammy :)

ZOOOOOOO

Yes! We used our annual pass and went to the zoo last week on an unseasonably cool day - notice the jeans. It was dreary, but not rainy. There was not a soul there, just us and the Coffins. So fun.
I know Sarah has the best picture of our fearsome foursome, but she has yet to share. So this will have to do. Fun times!!!

Bo and Surgery #3

Yes, Yes, you read that correctly. Bo had surgery today. I mentioned in my previous post that we had an ENT appt. last Tues. It was a routine appt. for Bo but ended up not so routine. We had an audiology test and learned that his left ear was completely blocked. So, Dr. Hall wanted to drain his ear, do a new set of tubes and take out his adenoids....that happened this morning at 7:50am. Bo did well. He had a rough time waking up, but was old enough this time to say he hurt, so we could manage his pain better. He has been asleep since 12:15pm it is 5pm. I hope he wakes up well. He was due for pain meds at 3:30pm but I did not wake him.
We are hopeful that this procedure will lead us into a healthy WINTER!!!

Thank you for your prayers.

Hi, Hello, and Holy Moly!

I will say it again and again until I can get my regular blogging self back in order - I am sorry it has been so long and IS IT REALLY ALMOST SEPTEMBER?

I am not even sure where to start, I think I have written close to 15 blogs in my head, that never made it on here, but yet I can't remember what I was going to write cause technically I already wrote it all down - just because you didn't READ it doesn't mean I didn't write it. Catch my drift. HAHA!

Okay, so let's start with our trip to Ideeeho! Fantastically wonderful. It was blissful, relaxing, full of family, fun, laughs, naps, water, nature and other assorted blessings!
We spent a week in the mountains of McCall, ID and then a week in the "valley" of Boise, ID, of more exactly shuffling between my Gma's house in Meridian and my parents in Eagle.

In McCall we celebrated my auntie Cinda and uncle Rey's 60th bdays - with a family reunion - not the really extended, are we really blood related kind, but the aunt/uncle/cousin kind. This motely crew of now 21 (I think I counted right)...that used to be just as nuts as a crew of 12 used to get together at least once a year if not twice - pretty much until we hit high school. So we are talking lots of memories, tight family. We hadn't ALL been together since 2003. And that was a wedding so it was a little chaotic. This was 5 days of pure togetherness - four "great grandchildren" we have Anna who is 4, Peyton who will be 4 in Dec, Bo who is 2 and Bridger who is also 2 (they are 3 weeks apart) and it was so fun for the two youngest to meet and all of us, meet them!
We spent time in the boat, on the lake, coffee at Moxie, reading on the deck, lots of rock picking....very exciting sport. It was wonderful.
THANK YOU to all the "old" folks that made the trip for us possible and put it all together. I realize one day us "cousins" will be responsible for organzing these shin digs but in the mean time, you do a wonderful job!

Here is a link to all 232 pictures of our trip!!!
http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AYs2zVw4btW4l

Down the hill....we played in a blow up pool, I learned to play the Wii (thank you Karrie) and yes it now TOPS my bday list, I tried wakeboarding for the first time (again thank you Karrie and Dan), shopped a good deal (thank you mom and gma), got a pedicure - felt so good, ate good food and took some naps. The weather was warm, but one reason we love Boise is that it COOLS down there, so we ate dinner outside most nights and could be outside most evenings without sweating!
Unfortunately, Anna got sick the last day we were there. Of course, it was her throat, fever and all swollen up - we made it home though without an ER or Urgent Care visit!

So, 2 weeks away was a long time. I think it took me a FULL week to adjust to being home. You know, sorting through mail, getting the finances all sorted out, getting the house all cleaned, laundry done, all the "new" clothes washed and put away - that is clothes for the kids....they are totally set for fall/winter! Blessing Blessing. We had lots of appt's dentist/eye dr./ENT etc.

Now that I have lost my readership....I will post a few pictures. Oh and the trip to ID...we got stuck in the Denver airport for 12hours. Yes, 12 hours. I hope to never return there again.
