oh....

And Chelsea, for further clarification is in the red shirt, and our Church is called Cedar Ridge Christian Church
http://cedarridgecc.com/

I did say AGAIN and AGAIN

So...... I have our actual YOUTH's performance of the skit. And I am so proud and excited to have it here to post. The girl with the beer bottle is our babysitter, Chelsea. Wow - this is our youth - what an amazing job they did last Sunday.

Comment

In case you don't read the comments, this one is worth publishing -I like what Connie said (in regards to my last post...

What I think is cool about it, is that no matter how hard we "try" to get back to Christ...we can't on our own strength. It's Christ who finally breaks through and takes the hits...and covers us. We turn to Him...He does the rest....

Watch it Again and Again

I know some or most of you have seen this via Sarah F.'s blog, or Sarah C.'s (that linked to mine, that linked to the other Sarah's) or even Connie's. But in case you haven't, here it is. Turn up your speakers and watch.

When I watched this the first time, via Sarah F.'s blog I was moved. I admit, not to tears, not enough to post about it...but enough to think on it. Then, this past Sunday our church recreated the drama. The chills came, I choked up and I felt the REALITY of the battle. I felt the HUGENESS of what we face as Christians, every day. At the women's conference I attended a few weeks ago, one point that Beth Moore (I believe) made, was that we have to realize as wonderful and awesome as it is, that moment we accept Christ into our lives we have to be fully aware that at the same moment we are accepting the responsibilty of BATTLE. We are engaging in a life long war, we are going to be in opposition until the end of time. That is just life - where God is, so is the enemy. Wow - how true. God will not leave or forsake us, he will always protect us, but we will face trials and temptation, we will face SATAN and his power in all that we do, constantly trying to take the place of the Lord our God. We must steadfastly feed ourselves with scripture, we must tell Satan to GO - for where the Holy Spirit is living, Satan can not.

Now watch the video again, every aspect of opposition we face tearing us away from Christ, trying to block us, then remember he can and will break through to us, if we just push through to HIM.

Just in case...BRIAN.....

Just in case my dear Brian missed in, the University of Tulsa, beat BYU 55 to 47 tonight.

I will say no more, I am highly anticipating his "rhetoric" on this game on his blog. :)

Goodnight.

Hit the fast forward (stolen title)

Yes, second post, same night.
Gander to your right, down a bit - see my links - please see link "Tammy's Other Page", now hit that and find her entry for Hit the fast forward. Now, read and enjoy. I totally love it. I too have a myspace. And, unlike her I do not blog on it, but I update it, add pictures, communicate a bit and find myself getting "lost" on there. I am not even going to venture to face book.

Anyhow. I just loved her post and thought it all to relivent to me, at this stage in my life, then again there HAD to be a reason we were friends. hahaha - (I can think of at least twenty).

If this blogspot were as easy and fun to add music, change backgrounds etc. as Myspace, I would just use this. I really like my privacy here. I don't need all these jokers from high school finding me, or weirdos from college, or well, you get the point.

Okay that is it. Tammy just wrote something that I wish I could've/would've. :) Thanks Tam!

Please Forgive Me

Thank you Sarah F. - for being so literal, serious...as I RE-READ, the poem I posted last, I can see that though pieces of it are moving, I can also see that indeed I don't necessarily agree or take to heart all parts. Case in point -
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to...

I feel led, thank you Sarah, to share publicly, that I don't have even a dime in my OWN control, nor do I want a dime in my own control - to move out on. I get the jist - but Jake and I share and God forbid (literally) that the need or the want arise, I trust that the means will be there. Anyone that knows me, even a little, knows that money is something I struggle with. Not the spending or saving (well, okay, who am I kidding), but on a more serious note, the ungodliness of it and what it does to people. I have cried more tears, shook my fists more time and thrown up my hands in more tantrums then I care to admit and all in the name or in the "curse" of money - so, my aunt gave me this verse this week I Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves with many griefs."
I think it fits perfectly with the first line of this poem, and stashing stuff away - who needs it. We can't take any of this garbage with us - to that I say AMEN!

So, what do you think Sarah - you got me thinking.

Now, for those that don't know, starting LAST Monday morning Bo began puking and continued until Anna and I picked up the torch on Tues. night and carried on well into Wed. We took a break and Bo picked up again Thursday, only to have it finally hit Jake last night. Yes, folks, for FIVE solid days the Lyon household has used every toilet, tub, carpet and other misc. things to catch our bodily fluids. We have attempted to keep pedialyte, water, vitamin c, sprite etc. down and I think we are on the triumphunt side. All that said. NOTHING has been done in or outside of this house (or this brain) in DAYS, so you were bound to get something intelligent out of me. Or at least insightful. HA!

I still have all my notes and things from my WONDERFUL conference last weekend that I wanted to study, meditate and look over, so it could re-sink in, but to no avail. I tell ya. I haven't been sick like this in ages. I was talking to my mom - the pukies we have decided between our two memories have gotten me a total of 3 times in my 29 years. Yep, that is IT! Oh 29 you say - yeah, I had a bday - last Sat. Those of you that have been East of the Mississippi, would be happy to know that by accident I ended up having my bday dinner at White Castle. (is that how I got sick?)

Oh and I need to go back to Nashville - so much to love about that place - country music heaven....and I wanted to stop in Memphis. Yeah, this CA girl likes the south.

TU is playing BYU - and I have a certain BLOG fan that is a BYU alum, and several that aren't alumni but are fans, so I will be eating crow if we loose. GO HURRICANE!

It is cool here, didn't even hit 70 I don't think today. You know what that means? Keri's favorite time of the year is here. I would also like to ADVERTISE, that since I got pregnant with Anna in 2003, we have officially passed the "longest" mark without being pregnant. And since I am feeling really public with information, if you recall my first blog of the year it wasn't a resolution but just a "fact" I said no pregnancies or babies in 2007. Well, with my head situation, and limited means of BC, I chose the Depo shot this time around per my neurologist and PC getting together and I am covered on that until 11/07 and Jake SWEARS he is done. So I don't want to get antsy, but in case you think I never follow through with anything, we are getting close folks, we definetly won't be having any babies in 07, the chances of being PG are growing slim, and I have even lost over 20lbs! Now if that isn't crazy.

Okay - you can tell I am rambling - this is because I have been stuck inside, stuck with my kids, to sick to even chat on the phone, email or blog.

Happy Saturday night and go TU!

"MAYA ANGELOU'S" BEST POEM EVER

"MAYA ANGELOU'S" BEST POEM EVER

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

something perfect to wear if the employer, or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..

a youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ... ..

a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .

one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....

a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal, that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

a feeling of control over her destiny.

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

how to fall in love without losing herself.

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without; ruining the friendship..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

that her childhood may not have been perfect...but its over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

what s he wou ld and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..

whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

Prayer

I am back, happy, restored etc. I will post more later. Right now, more importantly, I am asking that you join me and others in prayer.
In my links you will see a link to the Prince family blog, there Carrie Prince has written about a friend of hers, whose son has a terminal illness.

I ask that you pray for your heart to be open, read, pray some more, hug your babies and then keep Judson and his family at the top of your list. His only hope is a true miracle, but we all know that our God is fully capable!

Here is the information that Carrie posted.
Unbearable sadness
This is from an email I received:

"This is a call for prayer for the Levasheff Family. Christina Levasheff was my RD when I was a freshman at Biola and Judson her son needs prayer. Here's the information on Judson. About 2 months ago, Judson Levasheff (2 1/2 yr old little guy), was diagnosed with Krabbe (crab-bay) disease. It's a rare disease that doctors claim will quickly take the life of Jud. This disease started with him losing his balance (he can't walk now), slurring his speech, taking his vision, and now is starting to affect his swallowing. My understanding is that it will move through his body and eventually shut everything down causing him to be in a vegetative state and then ultimately death. Drake and Christina (his parents) have faith and belief that God can and will heal Judson and it is amazing. Christina has been journaling their daily journey and please take time to read it as it will endear you to this family and beseech you to pray for their precious boy. Christina posted a video clip of Jud before this vicious disease and then posted a video of him in his current state…take time to view them"

Jason and I read this email and watched these videos last night and wept. We went to bed sad as we thought about watching a child (we automatically imagine our own) go from a healthy, normal 2 1/2 year old to a child that can no longer use his arms or stand. This sadness weighs heavy on me and I know nothing else to do other than pray for him and his family. The Levasheff family strongly believes that God is going to heal Judson and prays for that specifically. Please pray for this little boy and his family.

In school, Off to TN in hopes of REJUVENATION

This is Anna Rae, she is almost 3 1/2 - she started preschool on Sept. 4 and she is a "big girl". She likes to carry her backpack and her lunch all by herself and is happy to tell her mommy that she does NOT need any help.

Sniff sniff - when did she get so big and independent? I count my blessings. She had a wonderful day yesterday and asked this morning if we were going to school - we weren't, but luckily baby Emily was coming over, so we did not have a breakdown. And now, we get to go to school tomorrow and Friday. Yeehaw!

I am off to TN tomorrow, Nashville to be exact. This is a big deal to me, okay, partially b/c it is Nashville and I have NEVER been there and have been a die hard country music lover since 10th grade...but really it is a big deal b/c more than once satan has tried his darndest to get me to back out. You see, I am going with a group of ladies from my church to the Deeper Still conference with Beth Moore, Priscilla (can't remember her last name), Kay Arthur - and I am a huge Beth Moore and Kay Arthur fan.
I signed up back in Feb. or March WITH two friends.
They backed out sometime in May. I stayed signed up, then found out that we wouldn't be in the audotorium, but live fed across the street. Hmmmm, kind of like watching a DVD??? I tried again to back out and kept getting talked into staying. Mind you at this point I know two names on the list, know their faces but have not spoken to them. As far as I can tell, I am the youngest by about, oh at least 15 yrs. I kind of forgot about it. Figured I could just count my $47 a loss if Sept. 6 came and I decided not to go.
By Monday I was having panic attacks of sorts - or yesterday I guess that was. I am in a room with 1 person I kind of know, there will be a totlal of 4 of us. I am riding in a van with the same 1 person I KIND OF know....going to Nashville...with one day free, I sent an email with ideas of outings to my unknown group of friends, no one responded. AGHHHHHHH. I showed up at Bible study yesterday and said, I don't want to go. I don't . What started out as this awesome trip to see Beth Moore, in Nashville, with friends, on my birthday is turning into a stomach wrenching, anxiety ridden, don't want to do it trip. And they all said, "GO".
Some were honest saying they admitted they couldn't do it themselves but that they knew I should. That it was evident Satan was stepping all over this thing. So, here I sit, procrastinating in packing or anything related to this trip because I am scared out of my mind. I am scared to go "alone"....
But I know I am going. I know I need rejuvenated. I know I need QUIET time with God. I know I have a broken heart that only God can piece back together, and I will not let satan have his way.

So, I am off to TN and I will talk to you when I get back.

(Bo is good, just ornary):) and my mom in law and dad in law are coming to do day time baby sitting TH/Fri while Jake works, and yes I will be 29 on Sat. while in Nashville with my stranger friends! Pray for some peace on my heart please :)

Much love
